After two successful years at the Climbing Hangar (Liverpool), the Women's Climbing Symposium is coming to London. Coaching, lectures and stories led by not just the who’s who of Britain’s elite women climbers, but people you don’t know whose stories you need to know.  As always, WCS 2013 promises to be an essential diary date.

This is a unique event bringing together coaching expertise from Britain's top female climbers with relevant talks about our climbing experiences.

Five Ten and DMM are running a demo eveing on Tuesday 3rd September, the highlight of the evening will be a free coaching sessions from Shauna Coxsey. There will be two sessions for ten people on each from 7-8pm and from 8.30-9.30pm. You need to sign up on the evening for this.

After a long World Cup season I was feeling tired and pretty run down but with a couple of weeks to prepare I felt like I could get myself into a pretty good place.

I have started working with a new strength and conditioning coach on a program to improve my power and flexibility across a full range of movement.

Are you looking to get strong?

Climbing winter routes in the UK has given me some of my most memorable and enjoyable days out climbing, however being based in London means I like to make sure that routes are ‘in’ before I make the long and expensive drive north.  Fortunately in recent years this has become a lot easier because of the great resources available on the internet. I have put together some of those resources that I have found to be invaluable.

Last weekend I had the chance to attend the BMC Injury Prevention Symposium in Sheffield. Both Saturday and Sunday were packed with interesting lectures that gave us an overview of the different types of injuries that are common to climbers. We even had the chance to go for a little boulder in The Edge with the mighty Steve McClure.
