Wide Boyz Takeover – 27th & 28th September 2025

We’re excited to welcome Pete Whittaker and Tom Randall – known as the Wide Boyz – to The Castle for a very special takeover weekend. Renowned worldwide for their crack climbing expertise, Pete and Tom will be sharing their knowledge and passion throughout the weekend.

Crack School: Fundamentals

Get to grips with the basics of crack climbing. Pete & Tom will introduce you to essential techniques such as hand jams, finger locks and body positioning.

Workshop Times

• Saturday 27th: 10:30–11:50 & 12:20–13:40
• Sunday 28th: 12:00–13:20
• Perfect for experienced boulderers who are new to crack climbing, or those looking for a refresher.
• Includes a complimentary Wide Boyz Tape Starter Pack.
• Workshop entry also includes access to the Open Climbing Session, Film Screening, and Live Q&A.

Crack School: Masterclass

Take your crack climbing to the next level with expert coaching from the Wide Boyz. This advanced session will focus on refining technique, improving efficiency and tackling more demanding crack styles.

• Saturday 27th: 14:40–16:00
• Sunday 28th: 13:50–15:10
• Ideal for climbers with prior crack climbing experience who want to sharpen their skills.
• Includes a complimentary Wide Boyz Tape Starter Pack.
• Workshop entry also includes access to the Open Climbing Session, Film Screening, and Live Q&A.

Open Climbing Session

On Saturday afternoon, Pete & Tom will host an open climbing session for a larger group. With 20 spaces available, this is a great chance to climb alongside the Wide Boyz in a relaxed environment and put new skills into practice with tips and advice directly from the pros.

Saturday 27th: 16:15–18:15

Booking required. Entry included for workshop participants.

Film Screening & Live Q&A

To round off Saturday evening, we’ll be showing ‘Here and There’ - Tom’s new film about climbing in Berlin, presented in collaboration with Rab.

The screening will be followed by a live Q&A with Pete and Tom - your chance to hear their stories, insights and training tips, and ask your own questions.

Saturday 27th: 18:30 onwards
