The Wave was one of The Castle’s original bouldering walls and has been at the heart of the Castle’s elite training scene. Reskinned and expanded a few years ago, it’s seen a resurgence in use. Unlike other bouldering areas The Wave is not reset frequently nor is it part of our bouldering circuit path. The easiest set problem is usually around F6c and it only gets harder from there. In addition to colour-coded problems, the rest of the Wave is filled with screw ons and wooden holds so that users can make up their own circuits and blocs.
For the first time, director Christian Lund has documented all the colour coded problems in this video – The Wave Beta Reel. Climbers Mike Langley and Char Williams climb every single set Wave bloc… including the 8a testpiece!
