The Castle Route setting department is looking for a keen learner with little or no route setting experience but strong enthusiasm for the sport of climbing to join our team as a part-time trainee route setter on a three-year learning programme. You will work 20-28h a week and will hold a number of duties and responsibilities within the route setting department while learning how to route set to a high standard.
An opportunity to be part of our lively reception team at The Castle has arisen. We are looking for a receptionist to work on our busy front desk around 3- 18 hours a week. Flexibility is essential as the shifts are varied and cover weekdays, evenings and some weekends.
A friendly open manner, enthusiastic attitude towards excellent customer service and a high standard of written and spoken English is essential. The ideal candidate should be Computer literate and have previous experience in customer service roles.
An interest in climbing and sustainability is an advantage.
The Castle is looking for enthusiastic, flexible people to join our Duty Managing team.
Duty Managers have responsibility for the operation of the centre during opening hours and act as the designated First Aider when the centre is open. They provide a reference point for all the day’s activities for both staff and customers; they ensure that safety procedures are followed and they provide a friendly, efficient service for our customers while supporting the staff in the centre working in their specialist roles.
The Castle is looking for an enthusiastic and highly organized individual to work closely with the Maintenance Manager to help with a wide variety of tasks to ensure the continual maintenance of the centre as required.
