The Castle Cafe, for the second year running, has won the Sustainable Food Award at the 2013-2014 Sustainable City Awards, announced on the 27th of March. This is a great achievement, considering that we've come out above dedicated restaurants and cafes! Our congratulations go to the Cafe, Kitchen and Garden teams for making this happen. The RSA accredited Sustainable City Awards are the UK's foremost green business awards scheme, attracting applications from more than 250 businesses from across the UK.
We were also highly commended in the Tackling Climate Change category and shortlisted for Responsible Waste Management.
This year the Sustainable City Awards merged with the BCE Awards, the UK's oldest green business awards scheme, with the addition of the Sir Peter Parker Award for business leadership. The Castle were close runners up for this distinguished award.
Hooray for us!
The Castle won the Sustainable Building and Sustainable Procurement Awards at the 2011/2012 Sustainable City Awards. More sustainability...
