The Castle is looking for enthusiastic, flexible people to join our Duty Managing team
Duty Managers have responsibility for the operation of the centre during opening hours and act as the designated First Aider when the centre is open. They provide a reference point for all the day’s activities for both staff and customers; they ensure that safety procedures are followed and they provide a friendly, efficient service for our customers while supporting the staff in the centre working in their specialist roles.

If you:

It seems ages since we did any major development to the centre. I mean it’s been a whopping 8 months since we opened Wells 1 and 2 and oooh, all of 3 months since we improved the men’s changing rooms, added a new floor of lockers and installed a bike park out the front.

And so, since the dust has finally settled on the last improvements (as it always does in this place..) we thought we’d start again! This time centred on Reception.

Sean Hearn is the Castle's resident beekeeper and all-round expert on everything bee related.

Not only is Sean the keeper of our bee's and a Garden volunteer, he also manages the Apiary at Hawkwood with the help of the bee team and support from OrganicLea.

The Castle ran its first Open Junior Bouldering Event on Saturday, 16th of May 2015 for young climbers aged 8 to 14.  The event was held in the Loft with 4 categories competing on 10 blocs set specially for them.  Many of the climbers were hoping for a place on the Castle's Climbing Academy next autumn- the first step towards a place on the elite Comp Squad.  Castle Coaches and Junior Coaches were present offering advice and support to the young climbers.

The bees and butterflies made the most of the warm, calm bank holiday weather, as did a huge number of visitors to The Castle enjoying the day and taking part in a whole range of walks, talks and activities on this year's May Day event.

The Castle is looking for an enthusiastic, highly organized, experienced Route Setter to work closely with the Route Setting Manager.
