On Saturday 2nd July the castle hosted the Young Guns Summer Comp; a bouldering comp for 9-14 year olds, including a professional finals format. Here are some of the photos of the day courtesy of Ben Grubb.
If you ask your non-climbing friends whether they’re sporty, quite often it’ll be mainly men who put their hands up. From the women, you’re more likely to hear “I’m no good at sport” to “I’m just not interested.” This gender difference is marked.
Research carried out by Sport England revealed that two million fewer women than men are active. However, 75 percent of those women said they want to do more sport.

Families from Tower Hamlets attended a fun day, in spite of a morning of gales and downpours, focussed on health and well-being.
The day combined climbing sessions, with a nature discovery walk along the local New River path to the London Wildlife Trust’s recently opened Woodberry Wetlands, yoga, and garden activities - exploring the Castle Garden, seed sowing, harvesting leaves and herbs, making pizzas with healthy garden grown toppings, firing them in the cob oven and eating together at the end!

Since the beginning of 2015 over a million refugees have arrived by boat to the Greek Islands.
In that time over 600 000 life jackets and 10 000 rubber dinghies have been discarded on the shores of Lesvos.
