We are pleased to announce that the Castle's permaculture garden has won Best Food Growing Project at the Hackney in Bloom 2013 Awards.
This category awards projects where food growing is the main focus. Judges look for quality of produce, sustainable practices and examples of innovation. The project must also be visible to the public.
We also won Best Newcomer Award in the same competition. Big thanks must go to Ida Fabrizio, our Garden Manager, and her team of staff and volunteers who have worked so hard on the garden project to make it the sustainable green space it is today.
The awards ceremony will take place in October 2013. We will try and get some photos of the event and get one of those attending to write us a blog on the award ceremony.
Hooray for us!
The Castle won the Sustainable Building and Sustainable Procurement Awards at the 2011/2012 Sustainable City Awards. More sustainability...
