The bees and butterflies made the most of the warm, calm bank holiday weather, as did a huge number of visitors to The Castle enjoying the day and taking part in a whole range of walks, talks and activities on this year's May Day event.

The Castle is looking for an enthusiastic, highly organized, experienced Route Setter to work closely with the Route Setting Manager.
So I put myself in the firing line yesterday with an open feedback session about all things Castle-related. I really appreciated being able to discuss the points raised in a constructive way. I felt that, on the whole, it was pretty productive. There were some good ideas that came out of it, which we’ll be implementing over the next few months. This is a write up of the Cuillin Ridge which I did in September 2014. I've put together a PDF download which contains some useful hints and tips on how to get the most of your trip and the climbing gear and other equipment that you might need for the traverse.
Above is the first part of the ridge approaching the TD Gap and Sgurr Alasdair.
