2 sessions led by Lauren on a very sunny day in July. The children enjoyed being part of a special Castle Garden yoga adventure; encountering foxes, dogs, herons and frogs along the way, and creating beautiful art from clay.

This year’s Events Series started with a free Easter garden day;

You may have seen our new iPads around Reception.  What's that about? Well, we're upgrading our entry system. If you have a payment plan (quarterly, six monthly, annual or Direct Debit) that expires after the 1st of July 2014 you will be able to pre-register and pick up your new membership card which will allow you to check yourself in from the 16th of June. Yes, that's right... no more waiting in queues while someone is completing their forms. You'll be able to go straight to self-check in.

The final round of Blokfest - the UK's biggest and best bouldering series- was held at The Castle on Saturday, the 15th of February. We've uploaded the highlights video onto our website. Thanks as ever to Ben Grubb for a superb job and the whole Blokfest team!

A big thanks to Aimee Feenan for giving us permission to link to her article "A Short View from the Ground" about the BMC YCS Series, recently held here at the Castle.

A Short View from the Ground
By Aimee Feenan - 5th April 2014

Welcome to 2014! To bring in the new year, we're building a live willow dome in the garden on Saturday the 18th of January from 11am to 4pm. Come along to watch, learn and help out. Please email garden@castle-climbing.co.uk for more information or if you are intending to participate as there are limited spaces.

We're also back to the usual volunteer days: Mondays and Thursday between 11am and 4pm if you want to get some fresh air and help out.

See our Garden Events page for upcoming garden events.

Imagine climbing amongst all your friends, big tunes, great atmosphere, fun challenges, the latest and best climbing holds, and give-aways galore – this is Blokfest and it's coming to the Castle on Saturday 15th February.

Are you aiming to improve your climbing this year? We want to help you make the most of all the great new areas we're opening up and feel great about your climbing with the launch of our new coaching products coming soon in March 2014.

PETZL have produced a fantastic short video highlighting poor practice. This is worth watching, even if you're a very experienced climber.

Tim Emmett, one of the most psyched climbers of all time, was recently at The Castle Climbing Centre on behalf of Mountain Hardwear delivering drytooling masterclasses in The Quarry and later giving his talk 'The Perfect Storm'. Tim has waived his fees so that we can donate profits to the Breathtakers OB Trust charity.
