Thanks to all that attended the Young Guns comp last weekend!
With almost 150 competitors the day kicked off with the 8-11 category. These Young Guns worked their way up 25 tricky blocs set by the Blokfest crew, the top 6 female and male competitors entering into the final round. With Cameron Kemp making a clear lead on the boy's blocs, the female finalists fought off stiff competition with the top 3 competitors entering into a super final to determine the overall winner, Olivia Gent.
The Castle is proud to be hosting the third round of the London & South East North Youth Climbing Series (YCS) on 25th March. The routes will be harder than before and competitors will be putting in their best efforts to see if they can gain a top three placing overall which will have them heading to the Grand Finals in April up at Ratho Edinburgh. 20 years have passed since the Castle was born as a climbing centre from its origins as a Victorian water pumping station. Rich in history and architecturally unique, this North London gem that is a community for many climbers deserved a good birthday bash. And wow did we have one!
