Private groups & parties
Climbing is an excellent way to keep fit, challenge yourself and, perhaps surprisingly, relax. It's also great fun. A social climbing session at The Castle is a fantastic opportunity to try an exciting and fast growing sport in a friendly, safe and professional environment.
These sessions are suitable for all levels of fitness and experience. We can accomodate groups of up to 30 people. For groups of fewer than 4, please see our Private Tuition page.
What we offer
The Castle is one of the Europe's top climbing centres and we have 18 years of experience showing novices the ropes! Your session will be run by one of our experienced, professional instructors who will provide you with the safety advice, supervision and equipment you need to enjoy a safe (but challenging!) climb. All you need to bring are comfortable, loose fitting clothes and trainers. We'll handle the rest.
What is covered
You can select from a 2 or 3 hour session. Depending on the size of the group and the length of the session we can offer up to three activities: bouldering, top-roping and abseiling.
Bouldering is one of the fastest growing areas of the sport. Low walls and safety mats mean that you can enjoy the freedom of climbing without a rope, learn new techniques and practice either on your own or with friends.
Top-rope climbing offers a different sort of challenge. You'll be working under close supervision with a partner climbing walls up to 13m high using a safety harness and rope.
The session will also include an abseil down the middle of our 30m tower. You'll lower yourself down a fixed rope getting a great view of our unique building!
