Children of any age may climb at The Castle under the supervision of a registered adult climber.
Children over 14 may climb unsupervised with their parents’ consent provided they pass an assessment test. Children’s assessments are carried out by Castle staff and must be booked in advance at The Castle on 020 8211 7000.
Alternatively, children may attend N4 Climbing, the Castle's Junior Climbing Club or Geckos, an independent children's climbing club operating at The Castle.
N4 Climbing operates on Monday and Tuesday evenings at The Castle from 4.45pm to 6.15pm (or Mondays 6.30pm to 8pm for 15-17 years olds). The children who attend follow the National Indoor Climbing Achievement Scheme (NICAS) syllabus.
All N4 sessions are staffed by professional instructors that hold nationally recognised qualifications. Attendance is a regular commitment and by pre booking only.
Minimum age for attendance is 9 years and the maximum age is 14 for the N4 Juniors. N4 Seniors are for young people between the ages of 15 and 17. Please contact

Children 9 years and over can also sign up for Geckos, an independent children’s climbing school that operates at The Castle.
Geckos Climbing for Kids is a separate, independent company that runs a climbing club, birthday parties, holiday courses and personal tuition at The Castle.
